Ho Chi Minh City Opens Two Visitor Information and Support Centers

Ho Chi Minh City has opened two official Visitor Information and Support Centers, giving travellers a reliable place to ask questions in person while exploring the central area. The facilities began operating on 2 August 2026 and are open daily from 08:00 to 21:00. One stands at Bach Dang Wharf Park beside the Saigon River; the other is in Section B of September 23 Park, close to the main visitor zone around the former District 1.

The locations serve different but useful arrival patterns. Bach Dang Wharf Park is convenient for people walking the riverfront, visiting Nguyen Hue or connecting with water transport. September 23 Park is near the backpacker area, Ben Thanh and several urban transport links. Visitors should save the exact map pin before setting out because park names can cover a broad area and vehicle access may differ from the pedestrian entrance.

An official city announcement ⬈ confirms the two addresses, the 2 August opening and daily hours from 08:00 to 21:00. The project is intended to provide information and assistance while reducing risks for visitors. That makes the centers especially useful when online search results conflict, a location has changed, or a traveller needs to understand which local authority or service should handle a problem.

The official tourism information page ⬈ describes access to multilingual tourism publications, maps, travel guidance and visitor assistance. Actual language coverage and the availability of a particular leaflet or service can vary by shift, so ask directly instead of assuming that every request can be handled immediately. The centers are a practical first contact, not a replacement for police, medical emergency services, an embassy or an airline.

Good questions include how to reach an attraction, where to find an authorised service, how public transport works that day, or which official channel can verify an event. Bring a screenshot, booking reference, address or vehicle plate if you need help with a specific incident. Staff can understand the issue faster when dates, amounts and names are clear. Keep original passports and cash secure; show a copy unless an authorised process specifically requires the original.

The city has discussed possible future expansion to places such as Tan Son Nhat airport, Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum. Those locations should not be treated as open branches yet. Travellers arriving at the airport should continue to use currently marked airport counters and official transport services, then visit one of the two confirmed city centers if more help is needed. Check the tourism authority's latest notice before relying on a future location.

Both parks are busy public spaces. Use the center during its stated hours, but remain alert to unofficial people nearby who may offer transport, tours or currency exchange. A uniform or proximity to an information building does not by itself prove affiliation. Request a clear price, company name and receipt before paying for any external service, and use emergency numbers for urgent threats or injuries rather than walking to a center.

For most visitors, the new facilities will be most valuable at the start of a stay: collect a current map, confirm transport and ask which information sources are official. They also provide a useful fallback when a phone battery, mobile data connection or language barrier makes online research difficult. Save both addresses and the 08:00–21:00 schedule, then choose the center that fits the day's route.
